Wattie’s factory closures show what happens when supermarket power and cheap imported fruit collide, leaving local growers, workers and heritage food brands carrying the cost. The NZ Bumblebee Conservation Trust joined us recently for a close‑up look at the tireless pollinators that keep our food system humming, working from dawn to dusk, in rain or cold, and visiting up to 850 flowers an hour.
